As part of our "Spreading Black Joy" campaign, we are featuring Paul Knauls, affectionately known as “The Mayor of NE Portland." His rich legacy is difficult to sum up. An entrepreneur, raconteur, trailblazer, and soul music aficionado, this man continues to inspire and strengthen bonds in our community, where Mr. Knauls owned multiple businesses, including the Cotton Club, which was on the "chitlin circuit" and featured celebrity musicians, singers, actors and players on the Trail Blazers - and Geneva's Shear Perfection barbershop and salon.
